Concordia Kitchen

The kitchen of this 1920's cottage appears to have been remodeled multiple times over the history of the home, leaving the existing kitchen cramped and cluttered. The client wanted a bright, open, functional kitchen to support their love of cooking.

We opened up the kitchen as much as possible, while working within the existing footprint. A new full-lite door opens to the backyard. Extra tall and carefully detailed aluminum-clad wood windows bring in light and capture views of the fine Silver Maple in the backyard. The full height tile, light fixtures, and window style are meant to connect with their memories of Chicago loft spaces.

Soapstone countertops with rich veining and the figuring of the walnut cabinets contrast nicely with the white backsplash and black painted windows.
